“I struggle with severe anxiety and depression. January of 2015, my girlfriend walked in on me and I had a gun next to me. I was in the kitchen. I had gotten some new medicine that was going to help out with my kidneys. It caused a chemical imbalance in my brain. She saved me. She’s basically why I’m still here today. Since I was 15 years old, I’ve had 13 friends commit suicide. It does put a little tear in my eye to think I’m one of the survivors that had been to that level and was able to come back. A lot of people don’t. I started seeing a counselor who has helped me focus in on things that make me happy. I just take it day by day now. I don’t think too much ahead anymore. I want to know how my health is today and then go from there. I haven’t been depressed in 3 months.”
