“I didn’t realize how unhealthy I was until I became healthy. I have 4 children. When they were growing up, I didn’t make my health a priority because my kids were always my priority. I was more worried about taking care of them than taking care of myself. I wanted to keep them healthy and happy. My life was my family. I didn’t make time for myself. I was secondary to my kids and I wasn’t healthy. Now that they’re all older, that’s all changed. It’s become a priority for me to go workout because I feel so much better. When I wasn’t working out, I felt tired and sluggish. I never had energy. I lived on coffee and candy. I would have 5 or 6 cups of coffee every day. I would eat jelly beans and licorice. I would never reach for something healthy, and now I reach for an apple or almonds. It took me 51 years to figure it out. I’ve been working out consistently for almost 2 years now. It’s made me feel so much better about myself. It’s given me more self confidence. Before I started working out everyday, I had very low self esteem, but the more I do it, the better it gets. I never thought I would enjoy working out, but now it’s like I can’t wait to go. Its become such an important part of my day. It’s changed my life.”
