“I’m a cardiac nurse. I always knew I wanted to do something medical but I wasn’t sure exactly what. I remember in 7th grade one of my teachers was having issues with her elbow and I was like I’m pretty sure you have tennis elbow. So she ended up going to the doctor and that’s what it was. After that, I think I knew nursing was what I wanted to do. Not necessarily to fix people, but to help them. I think you have to be in tune to your own body. You should know what runs in your family. If you know you have a family history of high cholesterol you should probably be aware of what you’re eating at a younger age. Seeing a doctor to have a lab test done to see where you are at. It’s nice when patients want to learn and want to change and make the effort for their health.”
